People near an open industrial door can feel cold air even while heating is running. A directed air stream may reduce incoming air during the opening without slowing the traffic through it.

Flying insects

Open goods doors may allow flying insects into food facilities. A correctly designed air stream can help discourage entry, alongside hygiene and pest-control measures. It does not establish hygiene compliance on its own.
